Could have been a little Halloween fun hangover that affected our wrestlers this weekend as some of the kids experienced their toughest competition and roughest losses yet. East Valley was a challenging tournament and proved we have to keep working hard and get those basic wrestling moves down. We had a much smaller group competing this weekend, but sixteen mats kept the tournament pace fast. Legacy was still there till the bitter end, watching Cole Martin in the second to the last match of the day pin his opponent for 3rd.
After reviewing the matches and results we definitely had some key losses that hurt us in the finals. Seventeen of the team finished top three with five earning 1st, seven getting 2nd, five more taking 3rd, but ten wrestlers just missed the podium – finishing 4th.
With just two weeks left for league tournaments including the Panhandle Championship, and then the super tough Bigfoot Battle to close out the season, it’s time to step up the intensity, pay attention at practice and put in the work to earn those rewards.
