A two-tournament weekend for the Sandpoint Legacy team. We had wrestlers in Spangle, WA for WLGWGL and in Nampa, ID for Cradle for the Cure.
Paper bout sheets and brackets for the families in Spangle were a bit concerning to start but the day ran pretty smooth, and Legacy wrestlers killed it. Hopefully we have all the results correct but that is the downfall of paper. Coach Feist was excited to report that all four of the 5–6-year-olds cleaned house and claimed gold in their brackets. In the older divisions twelve more teammates were in the finals – with seven earning 1st, plus a couple of 2nd place finishes to bring the medal count to thirteen.

Down south supporting the fight against cancer at the Cradle for the Cure tournament the Salcedo brothers wrestled in day one with Jaeger earning 2nd in the 3rd/4th grade 77lb class and 5th wrestling up in the 5th/6th grade 72lb class. Ryker got in on the action too but unfortunately ended his day 0-2.
On Sunday afternoon the middle schoolers were ready to go. Wrestling in the 7th/8th grade division Maxx Watson brought home the silver after defending his 2nd place finish in the wrestle back match at 102lbs, Dalton Regehr earned his 1st place medal at 95lbs, and Damon Therrien went 2-2 at 85lbs. Closing out the day Dalton stuck around to wrestle up in the 9th/10th grade division and got 2nd at 98lbs.
Until next weekend, when we try to cover three tournaments, keep up the excellent work Legacy!
