The Sandpoint Thaw tournament this past weekend allowed the team to keep trying those Freestyle and Greco skills - conveniently in our own backyard. With another week of practices behind them, the kids did much better at working their new moves and we saw a lot more leg-laces, gut wrenches and Roman rolls.

With a smaller turnout than last weekend, we had a few more teammate match-ups and best-of-three round-robin brackets, but the kids still took advantage of each opportunity to learn amongst a great community of coaches and mentors who are trying to grow this part of our sport.

We also had some older kids on the roster this time, and the 16U/Junior division produced several matches that had our wrestlers working hard to the bitter end. The techs and pins can come quick but battling it out for 6 minutes and going the distance is a good test of endurance.

Keep up the magnificent work team – you are doing awesome and we are seeing the difference!
