One last hurrah for most of the team to close out the year came at the Kings and Queens Freestyle and Greco tournament at Lakeland on Saturday. We had a great day running between the seven mats, watching our fourteen wrestlers go after those gold rings and enjoying our last team tournament of the season. With over 260 athletes registered, there was some tough competition and a lot of great wrestling.

At the end of the day, between the two styles, the team earned nine 1st-place rings, seven 2nd-place medals, three 3rd-place honors, and had three 4th-place finishes. Double congratulations to our three wrestlers who earned their rings in both Freestyle and Greco – Miles, Einar and Wilder.

We are very proud of the hard work all the kids put into learning these new skills and especially for sticking with it through to the end. It’s been a long, hard year and we appreciate the dedication and support from everyone who gave the Freestyle and Greco season a shot.
